When is tutoring?
Science - Mondays at 7:45am.

What happens if I get in trouble in class?
Each teacher will have their own technique, but in my classes, you will receive a warning in class and your name will be written on the board. If you continue to present a problem that day, you will receive an Alternative Healthy Living. That means you will not get to participate with your friends at recess, and instead, walk silently. Your parents will also be contacted. If you receive three Alternative Healthy Livings, you will be written a referral that will be taken care of by administration and your parents. TIP: Be responsible for yourself and always be aware of your surroundings and what you SHOULD be doing, as opposed to what you WANT to be doing.
What is your grading policy?
LATE WORK: Students must have homework completed when it is checked in order to receive full credit. Any work that is not completed on the due date is expected to be completed and turned in as soon as possible. If a student misses an assignment, they have up to 5 school days to complete the assignment for 50% credit. Any assignment handed in after the 5 days, will receive 10% credit.
ABSENCES: Students that are absent are encouraged to check the website to find out what they missed. Upon returning to school, it is the student's responsibility to ask what they missed and retrieve any assignments/materials they need. Students will have 5 school days to complete any assignments missed when absent for full credit. After the 5 day period, the assignment will receive 50% late credit.
FORMAL TESTS: Students will have prior notice of a formal assignment at least 7 days before the due date. In the event a student earns below an 84% on a formal assignment, they have the opportunity to retake the formal if they initiate the process with Ms. Markwis. Students will be given a remediation packet to complete within 5 school days of the test date. Upon receipt of the remediation packet, the student must attend tutoring to retake the test.

When can I bring my device to school?
Devices brought to school are to be kept OFF in the student's locker throughout the day. If a teacher has informed the class that a device will be used, that teacher will allow time for the student to retrieve and return the device to their lockers. Students are to be responsible for their device at all times and know that everything they do online is logged and tracked.
Can I come eat lunch with my child for their birthday?
Parents and visitors may eat lunch with their child after checking in at the front office and receiving a visitor's badge. A designated table is assigned for lunch guests near the front door. Lunch time is 12:24-12:54.

How do I set up a conference with my child's teachers?
We encourage parents to contact teachers by email for specific issues, but if you are in need of a conference with all of their teachers due to a larger problem, then you may contact our counselor, Jim Winnek.
